Name: Daniel Choi
Title: Head of Fundraising
Law School: Osgoode Hall Law School, Class of 2022
Background: I was born in Seoul, South Korea, but I moved to Toronto at the age of 2 and stayed there ever since. My upbringing emphasized the importance of work ethic. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I held multiple part-time jobs: from barista to server. Afterwards, I pursued an MA in philosophy, then worked at the Ontario Medical Association in Database Operations.
Current and Future Plans: I spent the summer as a research assistant for four different projects, and I developed a strong interest in legal theory and legal technology. I’m thoroughly enjoying my classes and looking forward to the 2L recruits. I’m interested in the intersection of law, business, and technology, and I hope to develop my skillset in these areas. In addition, I hope to support first generation student in their unique struggles and experiences.
Fun Facts About Me: I love comedy and trying new restaurants. I was also an amateur boxer and I have a dog named Bok Choi.
Advice for Incoming Law Students: The importance of self-care and time management cannot be understated. Be kind and don’t be afraid to reach out for help (I’m happy to chat anytime).
